Overview

Students say three statements about themselves, and others guess which one is not true.

  1. 1 Explain that each student will say three sentences about themselves, but one of them will be false.
  2. 2 Model the activity by giving your own three statements so students understand the task.
  3. 3 Put students into small groups and give them time to think of their three statements.
  4. 4 Ask one student to say their three sentences clearly to the group.
  5. 5 Other students listen carefully and discuss which statement they think is not true.
  6. 6 The speaker reveals the correct answer and explains it.
  7. 7 Continue so each student has a turn.
  8. 8 Finish by asking students which clues helped them decide.
