More information

Teach: over, under, around, through, balance. Walk through and name each action before children start.

Adjust the height and difficulty of each station to suit individual ability.

Do children move with control through each station? Can they complete the full course without missing a station?

Use whatever is available: sticks for jumping, stones as markers, a rope or line for balance. Fully adaptable to any environment.

Children often rush and lose control. Remind them that completing the course correctly matters more than speed.

Obstacle courses develop a wide range of movement skills simultaneously and are highly motivating.
