Shapes are drawn on the ground. Children jump in and out of different shapes.
Tap a step to mark it as done.
Teach shape names and colours. Pointing to the shape as you call it helps children connect word to shape.
Step in and out instead of jumping for children who need it.
Can children jump accurately into the correct shape? Do they land with control inside the shape boundary?
Draw shapes in soil with a stick. No chalk or printed materials needed.
Children may run to the shape instead of jumping. Emphasise that the last move into the shape must be a jump.
Cross-curricular link with maths (shapes, colours, numbers). A good warm-up or main activity.
