Show a numeral written in soil, then ask children to find the same number using objects, fingers, or actions. No cards or counters needed.

Children recognise a number in one representation but not others — for example, they may know '4' as a written digit but not connect it to four dots or four objects. This activity directly targets this gap; use it repeatedly.
