Lesson stages

0 / 8 done
  1. 1 Introduce two familiar ideas, such as living in a city and living in a village, and briefly explain both so all students understand.
  2. 2 Model a short comparison by saying a few sentences, for example how the two places are similar and how they are different.
  3. 3 Put students into pairs and ask them to discuss the two ideas together.
  4. 4 Encourage students to use simple comparison language such as 'both', 'but', and 'however' when they speak.
  5. 5 Walk around the class and support pairs by giving examples or asking guiding questions.
  6. 6 After a few minutes, invite some pairs to share their comparisons with the class.
  7. 7 Highlight good examples of clear explanations and correct language use.
  8. 8 Finish by asking students what helped them compare ideas more easily.
