Opinion Line

1. 1 Explain that one side of the room means 'agree' and the other side means 'disagree'.
2. 2 Read a simple statement aloud, such as 'School uniforms are a good idea.'
3. 3 Ask students to stand somewhere along the line depending on their opinion.
4. 4 Give students time to think about why they chose their position.
5. 5 Invite a few students from different positions to explain their ideas.
6. 6 Encourage others to listen and respond politely.
7. 7 Allow students to move if they change their opinion after hearing others.
8. 8 Repeat with new statements and finish with a short reflection on how opinions can change.
