Simple Role Play

1. 1 Introduce a simple real-life situation, such as buying something in a shop or asking for help.
2. 2 Explain the roles clearly, for example one student is the customer and the other is the shop assistant.
3. 3 Put students into pairs and give them a few minutes to think about what they will say.
4. 4 Encourage students to use simple, natural language rather than memorising long sentences.
5. 5 Ask pairs to act out their role play while the rest of the class listens.
6. 6 After each performance, give short feedback on what was clear and what could be improved.
7. 7 Allow students to swap roles and try the situation again with more confidence.
8. 8 Finish by discussing useful phrases that can be used in real life.
