Topic Switch

1. 1 Give students a simple topic and ask them to speak about it for a short time.

3. 3 After about one minute, suddenly give a new topic and ask students to continue speaking.
4. 4 Encourage students to change ideas quickly without stopping.
5. 5 Repeat this process several times with different topics.
6. 6 Remind students that it is okay to make mistakes as long as they keep speaking.
7. 7 Observe and support students who find it difficult to continue.
8. 8 Finish by discussing what strategies helped them continue speaking.
