  1. 1 Explain what a conflict is and give a simple example that students can relate to.
  2. 2 Model a short dialogue showing both an unhelpful and a helpful way to respond.
  3. 3 Ask students what differences they noticed between the two examples.
  4. 4 Put students into pairs and give them a simple conflict situation.
  5. 5 Ask them to discuss how they could solve the problem calmly.
  6. 6 Encourage them to use polite language and listen to each other’s ideas.
  7. 7 Invite a few pairs to act out their solution for the class.
  8. 8 Finish by discussing what makes a solution fair and respectful.
